One of the most important aspects to make the Hungarian economy grow internally, is to find ways to commercialize Hungarian Innovations. A successful "Made in Hungary" strategy could help the Hungarian economy become stronger and lower its dependance on Multinationals.

Hungary plans to spend 10% of EU cohesion and structural funds on R&D and innovation in the 2014-2020 period. As reported in July, R&D spending in Hungary grew by 8.1% y/y to an all-time-high of HUF 363.7bn ( EUR 1.21bn ) in 2012. The figure accounted for 1.29% of the GDP in 2012, slightly up from 1.2% a year earlier. The improvement came exclusively on account of the private sector, which boosted R&D spending by 13.6% y/y.

The objective is to increase awareness of Hungarian innovations and therefore increase the commercial viability of these innovations.
